You are going to prob need a genuine tool to tackle that on the bench.

CMD can't do the CP14 properly , they ask you to unlock on bench first.

Done the same ecu with MPPS Tricore and patched it for future read / write over OBD

No need to unlock on bench with cmd
you do it directly under obd write the file and go
cmdflash do all vag bentley and co by obd without unlock

the error that had was because car was already tuned so checksum error once the customer let it update at audi i could do it obd without any problem

Hello. You can tell me if Passat 2.0 TDI CR 2010 edc 17cp14 has tprot? Can someone help me remove tprot if you have. I tried to remove the DPF,.It allows me to read and write original software, but after the change the software does not let me write it. The original and modified software attach.I want you to write the OBD can if possible.

You can't remove TPROT by OBD, it has to removed via BL.

From your post on ecuconnections. You are going to have to bootread to find tprot level.

I always assume it has, unless the exact ecu being considered has been read and checked itself on bench.

That's not the only possible cause of your problem though its definitely a possibility, how are you calculating the checksum?

Since June 2009, all EDC17 May TPROT .
The tool , which you write should be corrected checksums .
