hi can someone help me with answering a few questions i have as my knowledge is limited in this area , i have a 98 passat tdi with a few mods , bigger turbo , injectors etc, it has the older type ecu that isnt flashable via obd port , i know i have to remove the chips (x2 i believe) from inside the ecu and soldier in a socket to install a reworked chip , now ive found a company who will provide me with a reworked files but they dont program new chips for you , you have to send them your original files of the ecu and they will send them back reworked for you to program onto a new chip ,

1st question is what is the cheapest programmer thats any good (not from china so it takes months to arrive either) on the market that will do the job of programming a new blank chip with the reworked files they send me ,any recommendations

2nd how to i read the file ??? is this done with the programmer so i have to remove the original chip to read it or can it be read via the obd port so i dont have to remove the ecu until i have a new chip ready to install
