BMW320D e46 on a 02 plate

ok first i dont have software to read codes on my car , but had it at a garage to get the adaptation rest, and no codes showing.
the problem seems to be with my MAF
If i unplug it the car has plenty of power, if i connect it has no power under 2500k rev

I didnt want to spend silly money on a genuin Bosh MAF as money is tight, so i know beforte you say dont buy cheap, i bought 3 off ebay new copys and a genuin used one, all seem to be the same.
Am i missing something ?
adaptation at the garage dosnt help

blocked swirl flaps
replaced all the vacuum pipes

does anyone have any idea, im starting to go off the BM

can the maf be disabled in winols ?
