obd tuning or soldering ?

Postby boRaTDI » Fri Apr 29, 2016 7:23 pm

hey there,

i have a vw bora 11.1999 with 1.9 tdi 81kw engine.

i tried a month ago to tune the car myself but failed everytime because the flasher do not support my ecu i think ?

i tried with kess v2 and mpps v13 and kwp2000 but result was nothing, the kwp flasher recognizes the ecu but dont want to read.

what do you guys think do i have to solder to get bin from ecu or do i only need the right flasher ?

so today i pulled out my ecu to see which one it is because one member of the forum told me that it is easier to find out if i know which ecu is in the car...

ecu is :
diesel
bosch 038 906 018 bm
24.11.1998
made in germany

what do you think ? :D

are the eproms difficult to solder ? i have made some soldering a time ago on a pc motherboard but the chips have been big and it was not really a problem.. :)

how is it in this ecu ? are there pictures maybe ? :shifty:

hmm sounds interesting.. :eh:

so after desoldering the 2 eproms i can directly solder the sockets on the ecu ?
and then do the whole work (reading, writing mod file etc..) ?

yes. but you need new memory (2x AM29F010) and you need programmer to this memory.

if you look at the picture.

right one HHH
left one LLL

the originals are otp one time program.
for tune you need te burn the new AM29F010 the can be reprogram with a programmer.

sorry but i dont know what HHH and LLL means

so i have to read the 2 original eproms and then i can put them on side and for instance if i want (when selling the car) i can put them again in my ecu ? i dont have to erase them in the whole process or am i false...?

i found some things on ebay what i wanted to buy for tuning, do you think this is ok ?
because i dont want to buy false programmer or chip...

http://www.ebay.de/itm/Universal-USB-Pr ... 1920436078

http://www.ebay.de/itm/3-St-AM29F010-90 ... SwKfVXE8bX

and this sockets for the 2 29f010 chips right ?
so i can change them with the originals as often as i want when soldering the sockets to the place where the two chips were placed ?

this one ?

hey mate.

you must desoldering ori memory and read both memory in programmer. then you soldering 2 sockets in places where was memory. then you can change your file and programing both chips with new file. if you will be want you can programing your ori file to new memory because you can delete it. this programmer which you show here is ok if you will get PLCC32 adapter . sockets and chips are also correct.

sorry for my eglish :P

cheers
