you can use Winols to check the checksums and may be able to correct them.

Usually with PSA vehicles fitted with the EDC15C2, I use ECU Safe and MPPS,
It is not suitable to use ECU Safe with later EDC16C34's, but the older EDC15's seem to work well.
As far as checksum is concerned I have always checked it with MPPS, before writing, on these ECU's it has a "Checksum" button,
Although I have never done this with any of these ECU's where a correction has had to be made, is this because ECU Safe does this before ?
Thanks
Isaac

MPPS v13.2 seems that doesnt make good corrections for checksum on bmw dde3 files.

206 ecu mods.zip
can anyone check these for me? i edited in ecusafe for dpf remove, and did some mods to a few maps. when i check with mpps it says 11checkzones 0 corrections, surely the checksum has changed with modification of file?

i know its an old thread but my question is about OBD and BDM for edc16.

few days ago i read 2 cars via OBD with edc16. i sent the originals to someone who mods the files...
he told me that there is a difference between read flash via obd and bdm.
bdm should be the full flash and obd only a part..

but what i dont understand;
whats the point when modding the file ?
are there areas which could not be modded but which should be modded ?
it wont make problems when flashing the modded files back to the car right ?

i do not understand what is the main difference, is bdm mod file better than obd mod file ??

can someone please explain to me

bdm reads the full memory of the ecu, so if there is a crash during writing, or some other error, the ecu is recoverable.....if anything happens and you only have obd read, it is much more difficult to recover.
with regards to tuning, both bdm and obd flash are still the same regards to map editing.
which area's of the file are different from the obd and bdm? post ori files and i will inspect

your file was chks fine...
mpps (such clone thing) do chks by his own on fly... thats why there is no button.
