Hi guys,

I'm trying to find out how to unlock tuned files so I can open them in win ols. Any help would be appreciated, thanks

Open in hex editor file and search NOREAD tag, then make it FF...this is the easiest protection ;)

good tuner does not need to lock his files as, if the viewer understands his changes than he is good enough to do it by himself,
but if he copies without understanding (there are also very use full tricks to trick the possible copiers to make car not run properly),
he will never be able to solve any kind of problem because of modifications. If modification runs on car A it does not mean it will run on car B...than you need to know what are you doing.

Learing from copying is wrong way.

in most cases people who put noread mark are happy that they know that primitive feature so they just use it and think that this is it ;)
I personally never lock my files as who wants to learn - so learn.

Knowledge shearing means progress to all not only individuals.
So you will probably see carp modified file :) do not expect too much as you will learn from it and if it is wrongly done you will learn wrong and i am 99.99% sure about that.

I appreciate everything you are saying completely, the file was written by a well know vxr tuner - Klassen motors in Germany. I didnt want the file unlocked to copy or steal work, i was just curious about what was actually on my ecu.
Im taking my time to learn but i am sticking with diesel tuning for now, im just trying to find some real time to dedicate to it.
