How to read Maps if KWP + Galetto are not supported

This might sound abit stupid, but for example cars (as a random example, a K11 Nissan Micra Petrol) how do you read the ECU map??

Many cars (mainly petrols) have an ODB-2 socket but there is no way to read the map using KWP2000+ or Galetto.

How is this done?

Nissan Micra K11 (1992–1997) is OBD 1 car. The car can not be flashed via diagnostic socket. The only way to read the maps is to take out the chip and read it with eprom programer. Chip tuning the 1.0 L (CG10DE) or 1.3 L (CG13DE) engine is waste of time.

I've heard this is needed (read the ECU with an eprom programmer) even fot the 2.0L HDi 90hp present in the 306 and 406 range, with Siemens SID80 ECU. Is it true?

For Siemens SID8xx ECU family you need BDM programmer to read and write the files.

The micra was just an example and the later cg10s and cga3de are odb2. Another example would be a petrol Ford cougar. But I am guessing as a rule of thumb if you can't use kwp or galetto then the physical chip needs to be removed? Cheers for replies so far! :)
