How to flash stock software

Postby alpinemobile » Tue Jul 05, 2016 3:51 pm

Hi. I have a 2003 BMW e46 320d 150hp (EDC16C31 6speed manual, vacuumatic turbo actuator) with bad tuner software from the previous owner and I want to flash unmodified original stock software.
I have downloaded stock software from internet. I can also read it from a car similar to mine, that a friend owns.
Now I have this file: stock_software_thats_not_mine.bin
How do I go and flash it to my car?
What do I have to change to make it work with my car?
Many thanks.

Hi. Im a bit new to software, but what i have done though before is, (also from bad tuner experience), i downloaded the original tuned file that was on the car and i resetted al the values with winOLS, and it worked like a charm. I also had an exact stock file that was downloaded from internet, but for some reason the car wouldnt fully boost like it should in the map. So just resetted original file and problem was solved

Take your file and load it to winols, sometimes you could see which numbers is tuned because they would be red or blue, but it is not always that colour, sometime its normal colour but the number has changed. Then just highlight these numbers, right click and click on original value. if you realy want to make sure everything is back to stock, you can highlight the whole file and click original, might take some time, but it could be worth it. You dont want that tuner's changes lurking around there, so rather just reset everything and do it over.

This works just if OLS contains both original and tuned version. If you load just tuned version, then no highlight is made on file.

Just update your ECU with Winkfp or IstaP. That is five minutes of work with k-dcan cable.
