Galletto, KWP2000, MPPS, ...

Hi,

I really have a hard time figuring out what solution would be the best for me.

I'd like to flash my E36 M3 (S50B32, the DME is a MSS50) to remove the top speed governor.
I might do the same on more recent BMW (E39, E60) and a friend would like my assistance in tuning his 1999 Audi S3.

I understand the KWP2000 is quite out of date today.

I quite like the recovery mode of the MPPS but many guys use the Galletto 1260 on BMW.

What's your take? Which one would suit me best?

Also, I've read that the Galletto 1260 is basically a modified Vag-com cable.

Now, I don't own a vag-com but I have a K+DCAN cable I use to diagnnose BMW. Can I do some flashing with it as well?

Galletto and edit the 32kb BIN .. re-upload from there. MSS50 doesnt 'require' checksum correction for the 32kb calaibration section of the ROM.

I'll answer myself: yes, provided I modify the Galetto software to work with my cable's serial number.

Hi,
somebody tried Galleto 1260 or KWP2000 cable clones with 2012 and later VAG ECUs? It worked like a charm with older ECU types if proper fuses were removed but I'm kind of stuck with newer ECU types...
