Hello!

Hello everyone.

My name is Dave, or Mr Whippy.

Do lots of tinkering with cars, always have done, and these days that means tinkering with ECU's...

Always learning new things, and getting my head into 2d viewer of binaries looking for maps and trying to work out what they must do... they are almost like really technical mathematical jigsaws, and as more pieces come together the more you can make sense of things!

I started ECU tuning on my EDC15C2 ECU on a PSA HDi diesel engine... now looking to work on my Siemens (eeek) MS45 on my BMW Z4 which is going ok so far (along with the help of notepad++ and a damos file and lots of ori files ;) )

Looks like a great community with lots to read and learn, and hopefully I can add my 2p where I know some stuff!

Dave

Hey Dave,

Im a noob on here mate and I have jsut started thinking of tinkering myself. I have the Z4 and am fitting a supercharger to it soon and was wondering if you have any hints and tips reading and writing to this ECU (MS45)? The tuning file for the supercharger unit is very expensive and to be honest, since I'm the same type of guy as yourself, one who enjoys spending his weekend tinkering (sad I know, but the days of going out and getting smashed are non-appealling anymore), I would rather save my money and play around for hours learning how to remap myself.

Any help or tips would be appreciated.

Thanks

Al
