Remapping using kess

Postby electric » Sun Mar 27, 2016 10:16 pm

Hi I'm thing about adding remapping to the services I offer at my garage, I think I'm going to buy my files from quantum tuning or regal tuning does anybody have any thoughts on either of these file providers?
Sorry if this is in the wrong section on the forum

Hi there.

Personally, I'd look more into Celtic Tuning or Quantum. That's just my personal opinion though. Best thing to do would be ring both up and see if you can meet in person to have a chat about what they can offer you.

ive been with a few over the years, buying winols was the biggest eye opener going, what id suggest is going with someone that actually does the maps himself

So it's possible to use files from celtic, quantum etc, I'm new to this whole ecu tuning stuff so i asked celtic tuning if it's possible to use their maps with clone tools and they just responded that they don't sell to those with clone tools,

My question is, Can they see that you use a clone tool based on the ecu read?

If i got it right we have to send the original file to them and they send it back modified?

Might have been an inappropriate question to ask here but i would like to avoid getting a remap from people that might not have real remaps from well known companies

i think they cant see if u got a clone tool-they just dont want to cooperate with people with clone tools for obvious reasons, one for example being problems during flash like blocked ecu and destroying their name.in this business keeping a good name means everything..

what do you guys use to tune your files? as i know there are only a few guys in south africa that actually tune their own files. the rest are just loading files. it is strange how there is a veloce performance in south africa and overseas. if you actually look at prices you can see who the guys are that actually tunes their own files and the guys who just loads files. the guys that edit their own files charges way less than guys that actually loads files because they have to pay for their files where the guys charging way less make 100 profit on every car.
