Hello to everybody from sunny England....

I have joined this site hoping to update my ECU. I have a BMW 330d E46 2000. I had the car running in limp mode so bought a Delphi 350E as it said (program ECU, change parameters etc). I'm not sure if it's possible with the Delphi or not!?
After lots of different fault codes it turned out to be the MAF. I bought a new one online but ended up with a cheap copy, the wording on the website was "OEM genuine part numbers" so not original parts but part numbers.!!!!
Anyway, the faults are gone but power is well down! If I unplug the MAF it has GREAT power from just over 1,200rpm whereas plugged in turbo is not coming on until nearly 2,500. With the MAF unplugged it pulls really strong like I say from under 1,500rpm but just as it really starts pulling nat 2,500 the engine management light comes on and power is reduced to normal. I can reset the light with OBD while driving and full power returns.
I have seen many post that suggest if the MAF is not a genuine part it will give ruff idling and lower performance but I had a Bosch fitted originally and there was very little difference. I am sure the best and cheapest option would be to flash the ECU changing the MAF sensor parameters.!! I don't want to spend £100 on a Bosch MAF only to find out there is none or little improvement, considering I will almost certainly want to flash the ECU anyway as the car has a CHIP/BOX fitted in line to the fuel rail pressure sensor.!!
Can anyone please help suggest the best route to fix the problem.!?
Thanks in advance!!
