De-tuning?

Postby fredesq » Thu Dec 08, 2016 9:55 am

Morning. I've been asked to look into restricting a land rover discovery 2.7 diesel.
It's used as a tow vehicle and the guy who owns it has drivers that abuse it and he wants to increase longevity.
I was initially against the idea as restricting it could potentially cause problems with egr etc.
But the guy is pretty keen, so I was thinking I could just reduce the iq in the top rpms to make it possible to get there... But just not driver friendly.
Does anyone else have any ideas?

You can also try to limit the fuel supply and torque. I do not know how to rpm limit.

I was thinking to either limit torque or fuel in the top of the rev range
