what tools/software is best

Postby silenttune » Sat Dec 17, 2016 7:10 pm

Hello there Tuners... not 100% this is in proper section please move if its not.

would like to start ask some views on which master tool would be good to start with.

Now I have many diagnostic tools and there is no one thats best as such but for certain scenarios there is usually one which stands out.

I have slave K-TAG & Kess and some experience with flashing/ecu opening/soldering etc so i know they are reasonably good tools.

I will only be interested in Diesel Tuning petrols do not interest me and will be mainly VAG/VAUX/FORD/CITROEN-PUG...basically common stuff and not exotic cars at all.. at least not to start with.. late siemens ford(sid208) transit customs are essential and VAG old and new will be my main target I suspect.. BUT.. I will only be playing with my own EDC15/16 vehicles I'm NOT going to start writing files for any customers I really want to play with my own stuff for now as I know its a complicated thing to do properly (hats off to all the good software guys/tuners out there)

also not sure what software will be suitable!! winols or swiftec etc..

to sum it up..

I will continue to use my Slave tools and use proper tuned files from great suppliers I just need something I can buy decent that will be updatable and perhaps even something in development that will hopefully gain momentum and who knows something that i can help to develop..

sorry for big long post....to note I also have access to a Dyno for testing which will be handy

Thanks People..

i would recommend kess and ktag master tools. it's not cheap but i haven't had any issues with them. when it comes to tuning programs i suggest winols, but the only problem with winols is they do not just sell to any backyard tuner. you have to have proof of your tuning company. reg number, bank statements ect.

Thanks for the input.

I am full VAT registered company and in business for 16 years so hopefully EVC will sell to me.

I am looking at buying the Magic Motorsport equipment as they seem to have awesome backup and seem to be forward thinking and building very rapidly..

:D
