ECU copy?

Postby Enihcam » Sat Jan 21, 2017 1:45 pm

Hi guys, have been doing some KESS tuning, but have KESS, KTAG and Galetto to do most of my work...

Have also been doing some custom tuning with WinOLS and ECM Titanium, so i'm not all green off the branch...

BUT, i am wondering... what would be the process of copying a ECU..

I had a Opel Vectra OPC on the dyno the other day and it throws a CAM sensor code, replaced the CAM sensor and inspected the harness.

Everything points to the timing chains having stretched... BUT there is a complete new engine in the car...

So i have a extra ECU to install on the car, but i need to either disable the immobilizer on it or copy the immobilizer data to the new ECU...

If you have original ecu just make a whole bdm read for your new ecu and you will be fine

Can i do a whole BDM read with the KESS or do i have to use the KTAG for that?

In case you were recommending the FGtech Galetto 4, i have lost the CD that came with it and don't seem to find a working download link anywhere...

If you have a Galetto then go onto their website and ask in Contact Us, they'll send it to you

For FG best chances come in WIN XP, 7.
I dont own an FG, but a friend does. He had his windows upgraded from 7 to 10 for free (microsoft offer). I then had to find a way to downgrade back to 7. Have a small google search on downgrading from win10 to 7. Its already there in control panel under updates.
