Hy guys,
i try to understand the tuning, the maps. Not for money, just for me. I'm new in this. I'm using ECM Titanium just to compare for now the maps. I didn't do any modification. And that because i think that the map that i bought from a tuner cost me 2 clutches. Not sure. I let you decide this. And help me to understand.
car is: Alfa 159 1.9 150hp 320nm
So:
I have named the map 450NM. This map was on my car 2 years. Cost me 2 clutches and the car vibrates during hard acceleration to! Only between 1600-2200rpm. Then is all fine.
I looked at the values compared to the original and i saw that these values were significantly increased: at least 30% higher than original
And then i have this map 380NM of a friend that was also on DYNO with it and it pules out 380 NM and 180 Hp. Exact same car. I looked at the values and are just slightly increased compared to the original.
My dilemma: yesterday an Alfa Tuner looked at the 450 NM map and he said is a normal map with a small gain of power 170-180 hp and maybe 380NM. :o but the values are 30% higher!!! how come just a small gain?????
I am new in this but correct me if i'm wrong: if the values in the 450NM map are 2 or 3 times higher than in the 380NM (measured on DYNO) map how can it pull out the same torque and power?
Can someone take a look at the maps and give me an opinion? I'm curios to know if that map ruined my 2 clutches. I think so but the Alfa tuner put me into a dilemma saying that is a normal map.
Thank you
