ECU Copy faulty?

Postby xbot » Tue Apr 11, 2017 1:54 pm

I bought an EDC16C34 ECU from ebay with matching HW and SW for my Citroen C4 2007 model.

After I copied via BDM (both EEPROM and Flash) and put in the car, it displays "Gearbox Fault".

What could be the problems?

When I put old ECU back, car starts.

With new ECU, after copying, car does nto start, but displays Gearbox problem.

Is it a problem with new ECU? Is there something extra I need to do?

Sometimes BDM doesn't read eeprom well, look for eeprom and read separately with an eeprom programmer

Do you have suggestions on how to?

I believe EEPROM was read, its only 8k in size. Where would "Gearbox Faulty" error be stored in - EEPROM or Internal Flash or External Flash?

You may need to read original eeprom out of circuit with a reliable programmer
