Hello guys,
I am completely new to ECU tuning, but I want to learn some things about it, starting with my car. I have VW Golf MK5 , 1.6i with ECU SIMOS71 version:9428 (This is what the VCDS tells me)

What software do I need to be able to read and modify the ECU file, the only cable I have is a VCDS HEX-CAN cable. I don't want to do something big, all I am trying to is to set rev limiter to my car... The well know 'popcorn rev limiter'. It may sound stupid to professionals, but I just want to make it for fun and to learn something as a begining.
