MPPS and/or edc15 problem. NOT A NOOB :-)

Postby Skipper » Mon Nov 20, 2017 12:45 pm

Hi

So I have done a lot of remaps, and have tried a little of this and that, but this has me stuck. Any help is appreciated.

I was flashing (with MPPS) just as I have done many many times before. I did it in car, with charger on. Took ORI file first. Then flashed, and suddenly the PC screen flickered, and the write was dead. OK, so took the ECU to the bench, and got it unlocked with MPPS. Wrote the Ori file, and MPPS came back saying success. Still no info from ECU, and no start. Just dead.

So I go grab another ECU that I know work, and that I had flashed multiple times before, on same tools. It starts flashing, and gets to 99%, then skips to success. Bam, no info, dead ecu. No start.

So I try and try, and I can unlock with MPPS, and write, tried many different files that I know work, and all same result. They flash, and then no ecu info, and no start. Before the MPPS got to 100%, and then wrote success. Now it goes to 99% and skips to Success.

Have not updated or gotten new software of any kind. What can be wrong.? Can Mpps have died in a strange way?

I use two different computers for bench and in car. Same result. Only cable is the same.

Have tried with Kess, and it writes too, but also no info and no start.

I have ordered new MPPS cheapo to test with, but hope it is just me that misses something here.

Please help anyone who may have the answer :-)

If your cable is Chinese then it has failed, common problem

That’s checksum error.

Put write Speed to minimum, or try to boot ecu ( pin 24 to ground)
If nothing helps, take of am29f400 chip and simply write with eeprom programmer.

After that your car will start 100%.

Another question: is it an bmw? If yes, you have to make CAS Synchronisation ( simply use Delphi software )
