After spending a fair while looking through the forums and comparing different files (90,110 peugeot/cit) I started to look at this guide- post36830?hilit=tuning%20guide%20peug.#p36830 On the guide the author states that the target IQ for the 120hp goal is 56mm3.

If you calculate the IQ he uses at 4000rpm (TQ Limiter) which is 60mm3 is comes to approximately 134hp, is this correct? Surely that is unsafe for a non intercooled HDI engine?

Over here, there are a some guys running well north of 130cv with boost manually set to 1,2Bar. I don't think it is unsafe per se... They mostly do short drags (250mts). I think it mostly has to do with how much abuse a car is expected to take in.

I don't particularly like that guide at all. We should write our own, Uber ;)

That would be great except I am still learning the dark art :) I have made a version of the J-sky mod which should be 'safer' for the engine, up to now it has had no interest. 2001-306-t17000

I have not tested it because of mechanical issues with the car but they are all fixed now so I am hoping to get it loaded this weekend. The aim is good acceleration and motorway performance as I do quite a lot of miles. Still working on the file as I know its only a starting point...

The EDC15C calculates the combustion temperature if I'm not mistaken and will try to limit it, that is if you don't screw it up by altering any of the injector callibration tables!

Short runs are okay with 6 bar of boost pressure, by definition, but pushing a car on a highway for 20 minutes at that isn't very advisable. Use adiabatic compression calculator and then compare the net stored energy after fuel add vs. the unmodified engine.

I've been stalking your post history for a while now, lyecon. I have also been busy slowly translating the very, very dense Funktionsbeschreibung while at the same time building my small library of memory dumps and damos files.

Right now I'm happily stuck on mass air flow and how to take advantage of the top readings that seem to be ignored/discarded. That is, in my opinion, the starting point of a good map: a proper AFR target.

It seems to be going well, I feel there is more to come though but I don't want to push it as it is not intercooled.

There is a list of about 27 variables and tables you "ought to" edit in the EDC15 for proper engine operation.
When I have the time and will I will find and translate and write down here somewhere.
Because, as others noted as well, the EDC15C should have never left the factory in the state in which it is sold.
The firmware is prone to all kinds of degenerate engine operation for no good reason at all, in cars and small trucks.
But then, the program memory is only 32kB and the processor is just 10 MIPS 16-bit.

Well, I guess I can stop my lousy attempt now :D
