How to properly remove EGR

Postby wygekas » Thu Mar 08, 2018 5:18 pm

Hi. I see a lot of topics about "PLYZ GIB ME ALREADY REMOVED EGR". What i want to understand is how to properly remove EGR my self. Main question is can you simply reprogram MAF map (set highest values so engine gets only fresh air) and then will the engine have proper mixture or it will be lean? I am little bit confued how air fuel mixture will be changed.
*i know if i set all values MAX i will get check engine, its just example.

depends on which ecu you do it, for example on edc16 you do it by modifying hysteresis...manual in attachment for edc16 ecus

[manual] edc16 EGR OFF.rar

Very big thanks for those files, they are helpful. But still i want to know how it changes air/fuel mixture when you replace bad gases with fresh air (in other words add more air). Wont engine get hotter? If so which map i need to modify to make mixture stoichometric?

No edc16 is for diesel engines , more air -> cooler
But you could if u want reduce boost map a bit in those areas where egr was active or decrease vnt n75 map in that area

How about EDC15 maps?:) How to remove EGR there? I believe EDC15 isn't smart enough to notice all values 1020 in EGR map, but I am not really into that, is there a better method?:) Here's my ecu data, would you find a minute or two to remove it? Thanks.

To remove EGR valve You need change values to 10200 (16 data bit, decimal numbers) in EGR map. You can find EGR map at 39F36 address. Except the EGR map, there are terms at then EGR valve can work. You can find terms of EGR working at address 3A666 (dimensions 1 x 6). Terms of EGR valves switching on are simple - there must be a defined range of temperatures of engine and there must be a defined range of atmospheric pressure. In this map first 2 numbers - the minimal temperature of including at atmospheric pressure that is indicated in next two numbers. Last 2 numbers are maximal temperature, higher that EGR does not work. If I am not right, please correct me.

Guys, i can't find on map the "3A666" line, i can only see "39F36" -_-
even on map e46318d.7z
I am trying to remove my EGR, i set all the values to 10020, do i need to do more or is it ok ?
