Im very interested in ecu tuning, currently i have an Alfa GT 1.9JTDM 16V which i could use for experimenting.

Can anyone advise which is the best software and hardware to use for this specific car? The ECU is bosch EDC16C39
Where can i buy or download tuning files on the net?

The car has been standing for over 2 years and somebody has suggested that the ECU has lost its configuration and needs to be reprogrammed, is it possible?

Just realised that i posted in the wrong area, please accept my apologies.

For read and write ECU you should buy BDM100 ECU Programmer with all accessories(stand+EDC16 probe),you will also need pull out ecu from your car. When you will have files from your Ecu,you should be able to edit this file (maps).
