Vw T5 with EDC 17 and EDC 15 !!!!

Greetings to all

This is my first post,I am small garage in France,and I do alot of Tdi conversions more as personnel hobby . but i have never tuned anything and when i paid for the service i had no idea what i was getting ever, this is why im here,
Id like some opinions on this latest project ..

I have bought for personnel use a 2010 Vw T5 2.0 tdi 140hp caravelle - was very cheap van - 3500Euro because high kms and clack from motor. At first i thought easy must be injector but all leak tested perfect,
Upon inspection the clack from motor turned out to be No1 piston melted so - Head- Block - crank all scrap .no problem i hate this engine & it was cheap - Is like half the size of the 2.0 CR engine is EGR cooolers and emission things

So it leaves me with real nice clean facelift T5 with 6 Speed gearbox . So i decided to do what i always do with the VW T4, put in the Old Strong reliable brilliant 1.9 tdi - AFN or AHL /ASV whatever . just TDi with old VE injector pump !
I think this is maybe the first time someone do this conversion into a T5 because i find no info,( The t5 exist only in PD or CR )

next step was purchase cheap 2003 SEAT LEON 110 ASV becuase it uses - best type ECU - flashable from OBD port they say ?
The wire loom is sorted now to bare minimum to allow engine to run and i already started the motor on a pallet, the ASV 1.9tdi engine built with all new seals, head skimmed , and timing belts etc so i am ready now to drop the 1.9 tdi into the T5 and use the 6 speed gearbox, ( again 6 speed never existed on the 1.9 van so really look forward to see what it give.

Tuning wise the T5 has real big Front intercooler as standard same as 180 so i leave alone, also i think the exhaust is ok and not too restrictive , dpf and cat taken out.
the 1.9tdi i have fit have borg warner BV43 turbo . have Race 520 Nozzles from Bosio, and original genuine 11mm injector pump from 90 Ps automatic Passat, also kept the electric fuel pump in the system that was already in the 140ps T5 . normally with this setup and proper tune we can see reliable 180-200 HP with healthy engine.

So the T5 was running i think an EDC 17 ecu , this is all disconnected from the motor - but i leave it there becuase it control all the ABS /canbus and everything else really .

, and the ASV 1.9 tdi uses the old EDC 15 ecu, originally my thoughts are to hide 2nd ECU inside the van to run just the motor , and maybe try to feed some sensors through diodes like crank speed sensor and oil pressure and alternator charge- engine temperature to BOTH the ecu's so that rev counter will work etc. So when i am driving the car on the second ecu - the original EDC 17 thinks that the car is like rolling down a big hill or something but with ignition key on.... ?


Today i was thinking about it, and i came with the idea that we could flash the EDC 15 engine map - into the EDC 17 somehow ?? but maybe this complicates things even more,

What do people thing, had older ecu files been sucessfully been flashed to newer ecu

has anyone got experience of mapping on the 1.9Tdi with similar mods to me ?
Would love some feedback suggestions . thanks

maybe il put a carburettor on it then ..
