my name is Maik and I am from Germany - so sorry for mistakes that might happen.

My car is an Audi A4 1.9 TDI (2006, 85kW, Motorcode: BKE). The ECU is: 03G 906 016 FE - should be EDC16U31.

In 2015 a tuner modified the software to remove the EGR.
Unfortunately he blocked the ECU for read-outs.
Reprogramming back to original should be possible - he told me via phone.

Now another tuner wanted to modify the software in order to lower fuel consumption and raise the power a little bit.
Since we didn't know that the ECU is blocked for read-outs we tried several times (New Genius and Byteshooter).
Of course we did not get access. Byteshooter gets the ID and then tells that ECU is blocked.

Is there any way to read out the ECU, modify the file(s) and flash the modified files back to the ECU?
(...and maybe to remove this fuc*** read-out-block)

The 1st tuner told me that he will install the original file and after this we can do "whatever we want". But this is NOT what I want - I want to keep the EGR off AND the possibility to adjust fuel consumption/power.
He also told me something about ECU-lock (255 minutes in worst case - depends on how many attempts we made, Seed-Code...)

But this all is not my business - I am just the owner of the car and don't want to go at least 350km to get the original file back.
(The way home would be quite difficult, because the EG-tubes are blocked with blanks and this causes the engine to run in fault-mode)

just install original file and remove EGR again...pretty simple on this ecu

Yes bdm/boot mode will work

Just one more question...
When we got the readout via BDM - is it possible to remove the read-protection and perform readouts via OBD-connector afterwards?
