Mk5 Golf R32 - what tool - or an ori file?

Postby Mr Whippy » Fri Jun 15, 2018 12:34 pm

Hi all,

I recently bought an R32 and was interested in checking if it's standard ECU mapping and not already tuned. I bought it via Evans Halshaw and it's got a few tuning parts fitted (brakes and engine mounts that I've spotted so far) so I'm worried it's been tuned (possibly badly)

I have an old original KWP2000 and a clone Galletto, can either of these just do an OBD read in the car?

I have a feeling the Galletto might but I'd need to bench read it and put it in boot mode.

Is there anything I can buy to do a read and/or checksum check to check the car is at least standard, even if I don't want to tune later?

Thanks for any advice

In the mean time I'll do lots of ME7.1.1 reading!
