730d EDC16C31 MAFless, boost problem ?

Postby juice » Fri Jul 13, 2018 5:12 am

Hi folks, just bought a 730d M57 218 hp engine, it is edc16c31 ecu and i can see a MAF error there.
My first question is, can a bad MAF limit the boost? I can't measure over 2000 mbar total pressure and even stock is around 2350.
Tried to do as mod , switched E0E8C from 1 to 0 , and recalibrated lambda maps to around 16 AFR. As i know ecu will recalculate air from boost. I want to run temporary as asmod until buy new maf but i want to make sure that isnt also a boost problem. I attached ori file.

Bad MAF doesn't limit boost only fuel...bad MAP could limit boost

Can you post a log with actual and specified boost and MAF readings

Can you explain little further? Isn't boost setpoint determines by MAP sensor? For example - 2.4 bar is 2.4 bar no matter if that's 1000mg or 1500mg of air read by MAF?

Found the problem, a big whole in a turbo hose :) Replaced and will test again.
I guess i missed also some IQ fuel limiters, my target is 85-90 mm3 with 1.5 boost
Keep you in touch guys, thanks a lot

Guys i used E0E8C address 8 bit value from 1 to 0, to run as ASmod. Is there anything else that i need to do for as mod? I have no MAF no but feel like something is limiting the car.
A second question, for better mpg, block flaps or not?
thanks

Haven't reall noticed improved mpg with flaps off, i usually remove them for safety reasons ( they are imho there for egr)

like you said MAF limit IQ and IQ limit boost,
maf limit boost directly?? no
but if maf are wrong the car no acheive boost, dont you think so??

No i dont agree...iq is limited by boost but boost is not limited by iq, it is limited by MAP setpoint which is determined by requested IQ by drivers wish
