davemcm wrote:Hi,
I pulled this file off a potential customers car to give it a slight tune and as far as I can see it's already (highly) modified.
I told him that it was already remapped and actually the turbo pressure (amongst others) is actually already set higher than I would be comfortable setting it (2750mbar).
What is your opinion of this file? Is it safe for these engines/car?
Edit: Also, WinOLS told me that it needed to correct the checksums on this file, even though I pulled it off a car that was running fine?

I have an original one I downloaded from elsewhere for the exact software, I can post that too if you like.
Edit: Original file downloaded from internet attached.

I don't have the tools (as of yet) to do a BDM read, so I guess i'll have to try and find an original OBD read for this one.
How can you tell one is a BDM and the other not? Is it all the zero'd out stuff at the beginning of the file?
Also, how is it that the file I pulled off the car needs checksum correcting? Surely it should be corrected already? It's already on the car running fine.
davemcm wrote:Thanks again. I've found a file for that software (looks like OBD read) with the DPF turned off supposedly. When I loaded that into WinOLS it didn't need to correct any checksums, and when I imported my read as a version it said 2 checksums were incorrect and corrected them.
I've attached the file here incase you want to have a look.

A DPF off file is a MOD file, you need an Original OBD file,
your MOD file's checksums will be ok (not needing correction) if you find an exact original, as it left the factory

Thank you very much yet again for the reply.... I wrongly assumed that if the 'DPF OFF' file had been corrected with the original (as it left the factory) file then it would have the same checksums and thus you would be able to use that to correct other (uncorrected) mod files.
Anyway, forgetting all the checksums, would you say this file is safe for stock parts? (I would say not for turbo anyway)
