which tool for personal use?

Postby gregd72 » Wed Aug 22, 2018 11:07 am

Hi,

I'm new to this business so mind my stupidity...

Looking to read & write the MOD file from my Ford Transit Custom. What would be the cheapest tool?

Basically I hope to get a remapped MOD for my van from one of the online services and flash it myself. But at the same time I'd like to store the factory MOD so I can revert in case things go wrong...

Thanks

Firstly post in "INTRODUCE YOURSELF" then post all the info about your ECU, SW/HW number etc..

I have just introduced myself :)

As for my ECU (picture attached):
SID208
S180146202

which I believe is a Siemens

After doing some reading & searching around it sound like I should be able to read my current map using ELMCONFIG with a decent ELM327 module.

Any views on this, or what would be the second cheapest alternative to read/write the ecu.
You do not have permissions to view the files yet. You have to be registered and you have to make at least 3 quality / unique posts.
