Hi.

Back in a days I've used to own VW Touareg V10 TDI, it was from 2005 model year. Back then (in 2012 maybe) I've bought MPPS adapter cable with software and was able to read, save and write back ECU data for both ECUs(there are 2 of them there).

Now I have VW Touareg V10 TDI but from 2008 model year. The problem is my VAG com reads that both ECUs have 0 reflash attempts and every status bit is zero, however I'm unable to read ECU data using MPPS it just hangs. I've read on the net that those ECUs can have some kind of factory lock.

The solution proposed on the web is to extract ECUs from car, disassemble them, solder some pins on PCB which will turn on some different boot mode and then read ECU data with MPPS.

My question is if it is possible to read those ECUs without extracting from car and disassembling them?

P.S. I'm going to make some engine hardware tuning on this vehicle so ECU tune is a must.

It seems I'm getting closer to solve this issue. This error when MPPS hangs on "security access" means there is a problem with seedkey (other obdii flash devices (kess/fgtech) will name problem as "... seed key something").

For 1.9tdi passat it is recommended to turn ignition ON for 30minutes or more then try again. Well on VW touareg v10 tdi this didn't work (I'm always connecting car's battery charger when working with mpps, waited 40 minutes and failed, then another try after almost 1.5 hour wihtout success).

Can someone suggest how to overcome this "security access"/"seed key" problem on V10 TDI?

I know I can disassemble car, extract both ECUs, disassemble them and read plain everything, but I'm using car many times a day every day, so I'm trying to work things out without making it stand for several days.
