Pilot injection

Postby Alex.T » Sun Jun 03, 2012 10:52 am

I found pilot injection map to be at 6B1E2 and 7B1E2.
Is this map the duration of the pilot injection or the start of the pilot injection?
And what axes does it have?

If this map is located next to SOI map then it is start of the pilot injection. Use correct factors and offset and you will know for sure.

I tought that too, but it's right between SOI and Injection duration.
The order is this:
    7AFE2 Start of Injection 16x16
    7B1E2 Pilot Injection 16x16
    7B432 Injection Duration 20x16
The first two don't have axes here. Axes shoud be in the beginning of map area.
Injection Duration has axes right before the map (rail presure vs iq).

Using °BTDC factor I get values that range from 12° to 48°. I have no experience, does it look right?
But if you look at the maps and expect to see duration in µs, it looks like values are too high.

Maybe it could be 1.2° to 4.8°?

I don't think the factor is different for main injection start and pilot injection start.
Besides, 4.8° is too close to TDC for pre-injection..
Maybe it's the duration and not the start..

Alex you are right.
The map is Pilot Injection, factor and offset is the same as SOI map and the output is °BTDC. Axes for this map are in the beginning of map area.

And anyone find duration of pilot injection map?
According BOSCH for this map factor=1 and offset=0
I see in logs that duration of pilot injection vary from 0 to 400 mks, most time around 200 in my EDC15C3.
But I cant find any appropriate map in dump.

I don't know if Pre Injection uses duration in microseconds OR fuel quantity in mm^3...
Anyway in my bin I found this map @ 7B792 that makes me believe it has something to do with pilot injection...
It doesn't have axes, I applied axes from beginning of map area..
