Mercedes EDC17 HELP

Postby TurboTim » Sat Jan 26, 2019 7:14 am

I have a 2014 Merc ML350 bluetec and just got my Ktag and I purchased another ECU so I could clone it but it seems now that this ECU is not cloneable? Is this correct and what does it mean? My current ECU has a tune from someone else and I was going to at least try to compare the files. The vehicle currently has a bigger turbo and the tune now has not been to my liking and has some low RPM surging from turbo. My goal is to get rid of that and make more power and hopefully get better mpg. Look at the maps, why is there 5 different fuel quanity maps? Where can I learn more about this ECU?

I bought it to clone it in case I ever messed something up. I will read my file and post it up here soon.

Because it read it but ECU Titaium couldn't decode the checksum and said checksum error. I sent a help request to alientech and they said it's a tuned file so that is normal. Is anyone able to figure out the checksum? The tuner said he could give me my old file back also. Would it be hard to build off this and delete all the stuff I had deleted and make it run better.

Yes my ECU was tuned but I bought a used ECU also. At first I was talking about used ECU that I purchased but then you said read your file so I did but it had checksum errors. Does this make sense?

So I have a tuned file I can use but I am starting over with my stock file that I got from my tuner. I have read my stock file with my KTAG. I would like to delete EGR and DPF. For EGR can I just put the opening numbers to all zeros to delete EGR? I am thinking that maybe the computer tests the fuction some how and so this may not work? How bout the DPF? Am I able to delete that myself? So I see I have like 5 different maps for each thing like "Smoke Limitation", "Fuel Quanity Limiter" What is the difference between map 1-5? I know this isnt the easiest car to start with but its my own so just trying to figure stuff out.

Without basics you wont be able to do this...smoke limitation has nothing to do with dpf
