Tuning for beginner audi TT 8N BAM 2004

Postby stevestt » Thu Mar 28, 2019 11:28 pm

Hi, being completely new to ecu tuning I've spent the best part of a week reading /researching online.
I've been able to make out that I need some s/w with appropriate cable ( leaning towards MPPS as looks straight forward)
and a tuning file.

Both the MPPS s/w & cable can be bought on Ebay as well as a tuning file claiming 250BHP for around £20
(where as a reputable tuner doing proper tuning with dyno runs would be in the region of £400 )

I then simply use MPPS & cable to read off the original files of the ECU, save them in case 250bhp file doesn't work,
and then flash the 250bhp file following the instructions on MPPS.

I must have missed something???
Is it really that simple ????
suggestions completely welcome as it's all new to me.

  Yes thought so! happy to take advice from experienced tuners ;)
I've learnt since post that the car needs scan for fault codes and needs to mechanically 100% fit and serviced under the bonnet.
If i'm happy my car is healthy, what are other check are required?

I'm not after a professional tune.. just a few more bhps.. and agree/understand you simply cannot compare with a custom/proper tuned file from a reputable tuner.
