Got a myself a metal cased MPPS V16 to read my 1999 E39 and i am having some issues

Software starts fine, lead is connecting to Laptop (Windows XP) and its showing voltage.
When i click ECU ID it does not work, sometimes its states "ECU Information Complete" other times "ECU Not found"
If i click Read ECU it will sometimes come up with the ECU info, from which i now know i have 350667 software. But will not read ECU? stating ECU not found errors or something else.

Any ideas? Did i just get unlucky with my MPPS? I could try it on my 2006 Renault Scenic?

If u want buy kess v2 clone its cheap and u can read almoust all car till 2009 that mpps its not useful
