A friend of mine is building a 323i e46 drift car, he’s asked me to delete the immobiliser, is it possible through an obd read file or do I need to open the ecu and read the chip ?

Need to open ECU ,, because immo data are stored in protected area of flash, need to write the immo off file in boot mode.
