What do i exactly need?

Hello,
What do i exactly need to read my ECU and then save the original file, modify it, then reflash it ?
Any help is appreciated, right now i only have my laptop and an OBD2 cable.

First goto "Introduce Yourself" then tell us what car/ecu you have and what tools you have
