Help I want to learn to work on duration and soi. A4 B5 1,9

Postby Driv3r » Sat Jun 29, 2019 12:43 pm

Hi, I've been working on my file for some time and it's going very well so far. Now I want to learn how I edit my duration, I read that you do not have to edit all the cards and that I also have to pay attention Soi bamit the injection does not end ATDC.

I'm so kind to explain to me how I edit these maps without doing any damage to my engine :angel:

I have found in the search function quite a bit about my question but unfortunately nothing about how to recognize what duration map when with the Soi map works together, how do you recognize that, and how is then recalculated? Is there a formula?

In the file you have SOI switch that is temperature based & Injection Duration switch that is SOI based.

EOI = ID - SOI

Hi, thanks for the answer. And that means? I would understand duration and soi from the beginning.

Just for example

RPM = 2000
Injected Quantity = 50
Start Of Injection = 12.1 BTDC
Injection Duration 1 = 22.3
End Of Injection = 22.3 - 12.1 = 10.2 ATDC

Can you explain that to me?

Linear interpolation using actual SOI as weighting factor:
actual duration = ((actual SOI value [25,99 degrees] - duration #1 border value [22,01 degrees])/(duration #0 border value [30 degrees] - duration #1 border value [22,01 degrees]))*(duration #0 value) + ((duration #0 border value [30 degrees] - actual SOI value [25,99 degrees])/(duration #0 border value [30 degrees] - duration #1 border value [22,01 degrees]))*(duration #1 value)

actual duration = ((25,99-22,01)/(30-22,01))*25,01 + ((30-25,99)/(30-22,01))*22,87
actual duration = (3,98/7,99)*25,01 + (4,01/7,99)*22,87
actual duration ~= 0,4981*25,01 + 0,5019*22,87
actual duration ~= 12,4575 + 11,4785
actual duration ~= 23,9360 degrees of crankshaft
Taking into consideration SOI at 25,99 degrees of crankshaft before TDC EOI (end of injection) would be at 2,054 degrees of crankshaft before TDC.

Lets assume SOI corrections would advance SOI by 1 degree of crankshaft (all other values are same):
actual duration = ((26,99-22,01)/(30-22,01))*25,01 + ((30-26,99)/(30-22,01))*22,87
actual duration = (4,98/7,99)*25,01 + (3,01/7,99)*22,87
actual duration ~= 0,6233*25,01 + 0,3767*22,87
actual duration ~= 15,5887 + 8,6151
actual duration ~= 24,2038 degrees of crankshaft
Despite advancing SOI by 1 degree of crankshaft EOI would be at 2,7862 degrees of crankshaft before TDC, so only 0,7322 degree of crankshaft sooner than before because of longer duration!

Looking at your sw. It has only 1 SOI map and 6 Injection Duration maps (from 0 to 5). The duration maps are activated via SOI switch.

Base calculation without SOI or ID correction maps is:
If the ECU needs to inject IQ50 at 3500RPM it will use 23degrees of SOI and Injection duration map1 and no other Injection duration map map will be used.

So SOI23 - ID26 = -3EOI

look at the attached picture to understand things faster.

Hi thanks but I think I already have a problem with my duration selector offset it? it looks different to you. :shock:

Hi hap works, now I have the selector for the duration maps if I say as an example now 3000U / min (red) and 51mg (yellow) and 58.8 ° BTDC in the Soi map, then I have the duration map 0 (Blue), right?
then in the duration map (yellow) 50 mg and (red) 3000U / min is then 28.9 ° SOI, Is that so far right? if I want to calculate EOI now I have to 58 ° - 28.9 ° = 29.9 ° EOI? Is it correct that way?

How do I calculate Soi and Duration? :geek:
