I'm lost with this Suzuki Grand Vitara II 078K0 J24B

Postby Greeny » Mon Jul 29, 2019 1:36 am

Hey everyone I've been playing with tuning for a short while as a hobby to compliment my trade as a Diesel Mechanic.
Ive been going through any hexdump I can get my hands on and finding/labelling maps on mainly EDC15 - 17.

I got my hands on a second ECU to suit my wifes Suzuki Grand Vitara cheap out of curiosity and soldered to the board to download its Hexdump with Ktag. Went all good and got all the data very clean.... But I can't make sense of any of it. Its probably because its petrol and I did do most of my learning by watching vaecumap's videos.... which are all diesel as far as I can tell.

Anyone keen to have a look at the hex and maybe give me a shove in the right direction on understanding this one?

It seems that the extension MPC is not allowed so I'm not terribly sure where to go from here in order to upload it

I guess where I am getting most confused is the factors.

Winols is adding a factor of 0.009999999776 to some of the maps. I don't know what that could signify but it brings the values back to less than 360 which I'm guessing would be crank angle. I don't see that as valid however as I would imagine that the factor would be more relevant to teeth on a pulse wheel vs 360° for a crank sensor or 720° for a cam sensor. Without know the amount of teeth on either it would be difficult to determine if these should be some sort of timing advance map or something else.

The other value I have noticed coming up alot is 84 which seems to be the maximum value on quite a few axis. I can only hazard to guess that it would signify IQ. In which case purhaps these maps signify injector duration.

If I'm on the right track that would be good to know. If not back to the drawing board.

Still yet to get my head around ignition maps as I have no idea where to start and what to look for their
