Not really, only the maps are read in the OBD, in the BDM so much more is in there

I thi k i know what might be causi g the issue.. When it first bricked i gave my mate the ecu to repair he fpashed the obd read i did on with ktag could this have caused the data error by replacing the data with a obd read with the FF blanks

If you BDM and OBD read then yes it'll brick it..

Thats what he did he asked for the obd read from kess and wrote it back to the ecu via ktag to try and recover it

100% bricked it then, you need a Full BDM read for your HW/SW then see if it boots.
