Here goes nothing…
I have owned 2 cars in the past 15 years and both had the same 1.6 Hdi 16v with wastegated TD025 turbocharger and EDC16 ecu.
I have been working on this ecu and my mapping for the most part of that 15 years with on and off moments.
I am trying to maximize the potential of this setup, without resorting to bigger injectors or hybrid/VNT turbo upgrades.
But I have come across a problem, I can't seem to figure out now...
About a year ago, I made my last update on the file.
Around 3250rpm it would suffer from a very slight, but noticeable hesitation. as I result I disconnected the MAF sensor and even tho it toned down the 'aggressiveness' of my remap, it made the power delivery more linear and the hesitation was gone.
Recently I picked up where I left off.
I have managed to squeeze quite a bit more power out of the tune right now, raising the IQ from 58-60mg/R to 64-66 mg/R, which is quite a feat for this little turbo imho, all doing it while staying very clean!!!
The MAF is still disconnected/removed as well as the complete EGR system, TVA system and their plastic pipes (which were upgraded to a stainless steel one) and Catalyst is replaced with a decat pipe.
But as I have found this extra power, the problem of the hesitation emerges again.
All I can make out from the logs, is it's about the moment my app says the pilotinjections are cut off.
I use an android app which is called FAP to datalog via a BT dongle. I notice a small drop in boostpressure about 100mbar accompanied by a drop in IQ of 2-5mg/R and off course the N75 kicking in to raise the boost again after that.
I can't seem to find what I need in my file to have a look at the pilotinjections and this is the only lead I've got.
Has anyone ever experienced something similar? Is there anyone willing to help me find a solution?
