1.9tdi tuning with MAF or without MAF sensor

Can someone explain pros and cons MAFless mapping? when I mapped my 1.9tdi 74kw, I was told that my stock map works without MAF sensor ( only with MAP ). And the new map ( 160ps ) is also without MAF sensor.

I got a recommendation from another tuner to buy it MAF sensor from 1.9tdi 96kw and than make map with MAF sensor also.

now I'm interested which metod is beter i safer for motor and turbo?

I always turn off MAF sensor when tuning. It brings more reliable power from what I have experiance, its also one less thing to go wrong I suppose.

Its running the engine based on the pressure not by the actual air intake.

I'd not remove a MAF for tuning but I'd not goto the trouble of adding one either. You would get a cleaner output with a MAF, which is why modern cars have them. The MAF is extremely unlikely to restrict flow and would not restrict power otherwise unless your mapper has no idea what they are doing. A 70mm HFM6 MAF will only measure 640Kg/hr but you can flow enough through one for 280bhp on a 1.9CDTI Z19DTH.

MAF is a sensor and at old engines often the only sensor for calculation of fuel.
