splicing bosch O2 sensors

Postby Dave.11 » Sun Dec 22, 2019 8:44 pm

Hi guys, new here with a unique turbo setup. Its a turbo yamaha dirtbike thats been converted to a snowbike with a KMS brand turbo kit. The setup has 2 Bosch LSU4.2 sensors. The sensors go out pretty often due to running 110leaded fuel, and at $80 per sensor its kinda alot. So my question is, can I splice the 2 wires coming from the harness to read from 1 sensor? I dont even know why it has 2 sensors, and my best guess would be that 1 is for the power commander EFI control module, and the other is for the digital readout gauge.

TIA

Probably not. Driving the lsu 4.2 and 4.9 is a little bit complicated, reading voltage and current on nernst cell, cosuming oxygen, and so on. Including reading current on heater, because ecu has to know if the readings from sensor are proper due to temperature.

Connecting two sensors in parallel will distort any of readings, ecu will go crazy and there will be some dtc's
