Renault 1.9 DCi 120HP S/W numbers doubled

Postby rowly747 » Tue Feb 26, 2013 4:57 pm

Hello,

I copied my ecu map file a while ago and are now wanting to open the file so downloaded the latest Winols demo version. My question is in this latest winols version it shows one hardware version but two software versions at different address lcoations. I am somewhat confused as my other machine running an older version of same program only shows one h/w number and one s/w number.

My ecu numbers are:
H/W 0281011969
S/W 374460 & 372590

I am just wondering why the difference in Winols shows different results and if this is normal to have two S/W codes instead of one.

Cheers

All Renault EDC15 have sw number in two different addresses. This normal. Same sw have two different sw number - this normal too. This case when used new ecu program version with maps and calibrations from old version. In WinOLS sw number used only for show in project properties.

Thanks Alex. But if I want to get a tuned file done does it matter if I get a remap file that is either/or one of those software numbers?

Both sw numbers tuned file must be identical to you original sw numbers. Optimal way to made tuned file from original. Other way very possible give you trouble.

Thanks Alex. Can you tell me why they have two software codes though? And if I was to edit this myself which s/w number would I alter the maps in?

I say that optimal way when you send to tuner you original file and received tuned based on original. Less safe when you search tuned file with both sw number match to original.
Sw number used only for ecu identification. Alter any map you need.
One sw number - ident of program code, second - ident of calibrations and maps. The same program code can be used on different ecu with different calibrations. And you have two different sw number in ecu.
