Mini Cooper S R52 from France

Postby joeldc13 » Wed Mar 04, 2020 6:18 pm

Hi Guys,

Owner of a MCS R52s, with a airtec intercooler, a 17% pulley reduction and Dave.f airbox, all in stock ECU

I am working on trying to tune ou have it tune, I am quite new on the stock ecu editing but not a newbie on tunning, I have built, tuned and owned multiple mx5 with Megasquirt engine management (from MS1 to MS3).

Best regards,
Joel

Can' t get more than 198HP with this configuration, because you're limited by injectors 320cc size.Even for 198HP , injectors duty cycle will be over 90%.
If you will use 380cc injectors , will get around 230HP, maybe more.Your Intercooler is not the best choice, is a larger one, and will loose boost, mean less Torque. The best intercooler for your car is GP one.All other intercoolers can find on market will lead to less boost. This car don't have MAF sensor, so ECU will calculate air mass using boost values. And boost is done by MAP sensor mounted on intake manifold. No matter if you will have low air intake temperature due to Airtec intercooler,(tested by me, not much difference between stock intercooler and Airtec), no power gain with larger one. Also 17% reduced pulley on Supercharger is to much for stock injectors, the best is15% reduced pulley. If you run with 17% pulley and without tuned sw , engine will run in not the best conditions, even will feel a power increase.Without tuned sw, will get around 178HP, but on open loop engine will run lean and can melt pistons.
