Softwares to use for tuning my vehcle

Postby Endorfin » Thu Apr 02, 2020 5:09 pm

I am a total newbie here and are stumbling in the dark.
And I have no idea of what I am asking for but I want to learn to tune my Mondeo 2.5T by myself...

Which SW and HW to be used for tuning engines or exchanging parameter setting on my Mondeo 2.5T
Have seen several systems on the net like KESS KTAG and noticed that SW to be used are Winols/Alientech.

Had a chat with WinOls representant and he told me that on new engines there are no possibilities to live mapp the engine.
You have to stop the engine and read down the new parameter settings each time. I would like to avoid that since it is not good if you have several "hot turbo shutdown" following each others one by one.

My goal is to logg signals booleans and analog I/O:s from the ECU with the information from A2L in combination with a syncronized external measuring equipment as.. EGT LAMBDA ACCELEROMETER.
Why this !
Because I do not have a dyno yet and may never have,,,, but I still want to readjust parameters on the road.
I want to syncronize all logs in a trace window with the purpose of helping me out when analyzing and verifying my maps.

Is this possible or am I forced to accept that using inbuilt emulators is only for developing manufacturers own ECUs.

Please answer me as a newbie that havent tuned a modern engine and have no clue about were to start....

Hi..

There are no live tuning available for OEM ecu.

only 3rd party ecu's have life tuning features.
