I am thinking about tuning my BMW X3 2.0d 184hp. I am a newbye and after playing with an old FIAT Punto 1.9 JTD and a simple mapping I would like to study my BWM.
I do not have yet the right tools (which one is the best?) to read the ECU (supposed to be EDC17C50) so I downloaded a modded file from the forum. BTW my expertise is not at the point to see the map by myself and a damos/map pack would be very useful to me.
Any help would be very much appreciated.

A tech question now...as I ma an hobbyist and not a professional what is a godd tools not so expensive I should buy to try tuning in the safest possbile way for the ECU. Not having right now original tools but only the ones we-can-not-talk-about, how can I get the information about my DDE. I have Esys...does Esys allow to get such information?

Its EDC17... so there isnt any safe clone tool :D.

Got it thank you. I think it is not allowed to talk about clone but this is a very general question.
I see Ktag costs thousands euros and it is not affordable for an hobbyist. I wonder if the less expensive devices do the job :?:
My understanding is that the device needs to connect to a server to get files...

there are tools where you buy specific modules for ecus like pcmflash, bitbox etc
