Postby vince59 » Mon Apr 20, 2020 11:51 am

Just for my knowledge...is there a safe way to tune by myself my X3?
One thing is playing with an old punto other is messing a BMW.

I am here to learn and so far I have learnt a lot - thatn to some memberes that guided me - and being able to work with winOLS and tuned an old punto.
I have only basic equipment and I wonder if and how it is possible toread maps form my X3.
If yes which tools are required?
I have been told that x3 and newer models have some "protection" that would eventually lock the ECU...so some preliminary infos are a must for me

I am not a professional. Basic tools I mean mpps and galletto (not original :shh: ).
Having the right tool I suppose the procedure is the same...read the map, tune, flash.
I guess I also need the ori file. I 'll have to check what type of ECU is fittend in my car. I searched the web and it should be a EDC17C50.

I have searched the web and several chiptuning devices are available. The promise is +30HP that is not bad.
The price is less than 100 € so that it could be a try.
Any advice from your side?
