Transferring map from one car to another

Postby bxll._ » Thu Oct 15, 2020 10:20 am

Hi.

Got a Vauxhall Corsa D 1.4t with an ACDELCO E78 ECU.

To cut a long story short, i have 2 of these vehicles. I purchased one with the intention of making my current one faster. I've transferred mechanical components over from this donor car to mine.

I have a KESS V2 tool and i've downloaded the the 3mb ecu files from both.

I'd like to get the remap from the other car onto my one. both have the same ECU's and engine, how do i go about this?

I'm guessing the car may be immobilized after? if i simply overwrite my current ecu with the new one. it it as simple as simply re-programming the ECU to work with the BCM if this is the case?
Usually i'd just pay for a remap as i have already but both cars need to have their maps swapped. i.e the "stage 2" vehicle now needs to be returned to a stock map as it will be resold and will not have the supporting modifications to hold the power which will work out to be expensive to have them both done.

Or will i have to go into ECM Titanium to play around with the files?

any help will be appreciated.

Thank you

if the ecus are the same software number and part number i cant see an issue with swapping the map across,

my car was mapped but to aggressively, I got a std map off someone who uploaded it to another site, the std map is the same software and ecu number and now my car is 'std' again.

If you use the kess to read you mappped car save it then upload to your other car.

Get a read off it to first to confirm they are the same sw numer etc, you can check in winols

Thank you!

Bit the bullet, tried it, and it went absolutely smoothly and now the new map is on the other vehicle. Good to know that it's possible. no immobiliser issues etc which i'm pleased about.
