Recently I have been to a professional tuning garage to get a Pop and Bang tune on my 2.0L Audi A3.
I already had the catalythic converter removed beforehand.
Not only did they do an amazing job on the tune but they also made the feature disengageable.
If the Cruise Control Switch was in the "Deactivated" position, the Pop and Bang tune was activated.
If the Switch was in the "Regular" position, the tune was absolutely normal.
And if I flip the Crouse Control Switch to "Deactivated" while Breaking, the Pops and Bangs are even louder.

So here is my Question: What tuning software is capable of doing these things and what hardware would be needed if I wanted to do this myself?

As you can tell, I'm not an expert. I am just highly interested how this stuff works. I hope someone can share their knowledge. Im' sure there are more people interested in this topic.

It depends on ECU - in some cases there are different maps in some swithes for states.

Well.

it is doing with Map pack for specific ECUS, for VAG is more popular, with Winols and with the correct map pack you can deploy and setup many switch map for pops, launch control, switch different map tuning etc etc..
