I've managed to make my first map using Win OLS for my 01 golf 1.9tdi ALH from creating my own ecu dump, learning to find my maps in each codeblock. The forums have been super essential in helping me learn how these engines operate and how the ecu can manage all the different systems. I've figured out how to reference damos for other engine codes to find the various 1x1 diagnostic factors, IQ limits, MAF calibrations, switches, etc in the ori file from my 038906012BD ecu.

For my first map, my only modifications were to adjust the stock file to fit my physical upgrades to the car:
- linearize for 3.0bar MAP sensor
- EGR map set to 850 and DTCs removed
- SVBL and boost limit raised for VNT17 turbo
- max useable Mass Air Flow limit raised
- max useable IQ limit raised
- pump voltage map adjusted for 11mm injector pump and PP764 0.232 nozzles, by comparing to T4 AXG pump voltage map
- diagnostic limits extended for MAF, MAP and IQ
- N75 map reduced at high end

Then I began to modify the fueling and boost maps. Driver's wish, smoke limiter, torque limiter, boost target

I exported the .bin, and flashed successfully using MPPS only after removing fuse 11 for the instrument cluster. After placing the fuse back, and attempting to start the car, the engine would successfully turn over and fire, then immediately die as if the immobilizer wasn't adapted to my key. I reflashed the original bin and the car started no problem.

I am trying to figure out what changes I made that could possibly have caused this? would this have anything to do with checksums? that's about my best guess but I haven't yet learned exactly how they work and how to correct them, if thats the case. anyone have an idea?
