I am a very begginer in tuning, used kess to read 2000 Nissan Almera YD22DDT 2.2 81kw EDC15C2 ecu, watched the vagecumap series and tried to remap the car. Car isn't expensive, my goal is to try tuning possibilities and it won't be the end of the world if I will blow up the engine - I am not scared to make mistakes. I am used to diesel working principles, how lambda value affects things, how much boost is relatively safe and etc, so basically I am interested in technical things about chiptuning and map finding.
I will attach (or at least try to attach) the original file and the one I already made. It is spiky and inconsistent, but that is not a big deal - I will work on the comfort in the last place.
It seems that improvement is feelable, maybe a little bit better response, but at first I was limited by 50mg of fuel and now I tried to inject 65mg - there must be a big, noticeable difference but there is no. Perhaps I am limited by somewhere else.
Changes I did:
71B9A must be drivers wish. I increased the values from 60 to 65 at the top.
738A4 torque limit. I increased the values by percentage in whole table so the limit would be 65mg@3200rpm
73976 smoke map. I increased the corner values and the x axis last value so I would get 65mg at 1040mg (maf) and afr around 16.
746BA boost map. Increased last two columns and x axis last value so boost increased from 0.8 to 0.9 bar. This slight increase looked a bit too low for the injected amount of fuel, but I counted it like that. I will sort it out later, no problem there.
78460 Egr map. Just made all the values high. Egr is closed mechanically though.
What am I concerned about:
1) In the torque limit map the Y axis values are 600, 601 and 602 mbar. There is no pressure like this where I live, its regular 1000. What does ecu do in this case? Maybe the 1000 are somewhere else and I am limited by that place?
2) What are the other numbers to look for single value boost limit? The number 32043 gave me the svbl of 0.98bar which I hardly believe because boost limiting map max value is 1.2bar. I can't remember the other number vagecumap guy told, but I tried and it gave me nothing.
3) The car uses VP44 pump. I have heard that there is nothing I can do with pump voltage because it is driven by the control unit on the pump. Is it true and is there any way to make something with duration through the main ecu?
4) How else the fuel can be limited in this case?
I have a file that I found on a cheap and basically useless map pack. It made the car perfomance results, I would say, the same as mine (if it did at all), but it had changes too in the following maps:
726CA
73AF2 must be something with temperature
73DEA must be something with temperature too
Maybe someone can tell me what are these maps?
I will try to attach pictures so it would be easier.
